I understand Student 2’s point about the importance of making profits, but I agree more with Student 1. Businesses should prioritize social and environmental responsibility because it benefits both society and the company in the long run. When a company reduces pollution and supports its local community, it builds trust among customers. As a result, more people are likely to choose its products and remain loyal to the brand. For example, many consumers today prefer businesses that use recyclable packaging or participate in community projects. These responsible actions improve the company’s reputation while also protecting the environment. Therefore, I believe businesses can achieve lasting success by focusing on social and environmental responsibility rather than only maximizing profits.

I believe that businesses should prioritize social and environmental responsibility over maximizing profits. Although some people might argue that it has several drawbacks, I am convinced that this approach has numerous advantages. To begin with, I strongly disagree with Nadia's perspective that social responsibility should be left to governments. Businesses should take action; otherwise, society may face serious consequences. For example, relocating industries can help reduce air pollution in populated areas. Additionally, focusing on social and environmental responsibility promotes job opportunities and contributes to economic growth. For example, people can find jobs more easily and reduce the stress caused by unemployment. As a result, these actions help society improve. Taking everything into consideration, businesses should prioritize social and environmental responsibility over maximizing profits.
