Citable asset library

What you can cite from Reach120, and how

Written by the Reach120 research teamReviewed

Everything listed here is free to cite, quote, link or print, with no permission needed and no account. Each entry carries the one line to cite it by, the sources behind it, and what keeps it current. 15 assets across three shelves: reference tables, evidence and method, and classroom material.

  • Cite, quote and link any of it. No permission needed and no form to fill in.
  • Keep a link to the page the material came from, so a reader can check it against its sources.
  • We never pay for a link and we will not accept payment for one. A link anybody paid for has to carry rel="sponsored" to be legitimate, so there is nothing here worth buying.

Reference tables

Facts about the exam. Every row carries the sentence it came from, the page that sentence lives on, and the date it was read.

  • The 2026 TOEFL test format, mapped section by section

All four sections with their task types, listed item counts, raw points and section times, traceable cell by cell to the ETS 2026 specification.

Cite it when you need to say what the TOEFL contains for tests taken on or after January 21, 2026, including the three Writing tasks that replaced the essay pair.

    Paste this link

    <a href="https://www.reach120.com/toefl-2026-test-format">The 2026 TOEFL test format, mapped section by section</a> — Reach120

    Sources
The ETS 2026 specification, cited per cell.
    Freshness
Re-read whenever ETS republishes the specification. Every cell shows where it came from.
    Stands alone
Anyone checking whether a textbook, a syllabus or their own memory still matches the exam can answer that here and leave. Nothing on the page needs an account.
  • The 1–6 score scale and the 0–120 comparison estimate

What the 1–6 half-band scale reports, what the transition-period 0–120 comparison number is, and why a practice score from any tool is neither.

Cite it when you need to say how a score reported on the 1–6 scale relates to the 0–120 scale used before 2026.

    Paste this link

    <a href="https://www.reach120.com/toefl-2026-score-scale">The 1–6 score scale and the 0–120 comparison estimate</a> — Reach120

    Sources
Transcribed from the two ETS pages that carry the score tables, each quoted verbatim with the date it was read.
    Freshness
The transition period is finite and the page says so, so the read dates are load-bearing.
    Stands alone
This is the single most common unanswered question in the category: everyone who prepared before 2026 holds a number they can no longer read. The page answers it outright.
  • What each TOEFL band from 1.0 to 6.0 means

A page per band on the 2026 scale, each one giving that band its own description and its place against the retired scale.

Cite it when you need to say what a specific band means, when a link to a whole scale page would make the reader do the lookup themselves.

    Paste this link

    <a href="https://www.reach120.com/toefl-scores">What each TOEFL band from 1.0 to 6.0 means</a> — Reach120

    Sources
The same two ETS pages behind the scale page, applied band by band.
    Freshness
Moves only when ETS changes the scale.
    Stands alone
A reader arriving with one number in hand gets the answer for that number at its own URL, which is the shape a forum answer or an advising email actually needs.
  • University TOEFL score requirements, each quoting its own admissions page

Per-university entry requirements where every number is published beside the university's own sentence, its URL and the date it was read.

Cite it when you need to say what a named university states it requires, with the wording it used, rather than a figure copied between comparison sites until nobody can source it.

    Paste this link

<a href="https://www.reach120.com/toefl-score-requirements">University TOEFL score requirements, each quoting its own admissions page</a> — Reach120

    Or in plain text

University TOEFL score requirements, each quoting its own admissions page — Reach120. https://www.reach120.com/toefl-score-requirements
    Sources
Each university's own public admissions page, quoted and dated.
    Freshness
Admissions pages change every cycle, so each row carries its own read date instead of the table carrying one.
    Stands alone
An adviser checking one university, or a student comparing three, finishes the job on the page. The construction rule is that a value that does not appear verbatim in the quoted sentence cannot be published at all.
  • TOEFL test centers that state on their own pages that they administer the exam

A center list built only from institutions that say so themselves, with the quoted sentence and the date beside each entry.

Cite it when you need to say where a test taker in a given place can sit the exam, sourced to the center rather than to an aggregator.

    Paste this link

<a href="https://www.reach120.com/toefl-test-centers">TOEFL test centers that state on their own pages that they administer the exam</a> — Reach120

    Sources
Each center's own public page, quoted and dated.
    Freshness
Centers open and close, so an entry that can no longer be verified is removed rather than left standing.
    Stands alone
No scraped list and no invented addresses: every entry cites itself, so a reader can check any row without trusting us at all.
  • TOEFL deadlines, worked backwards from the date that binds you

The dates that constrain a TOEFL plan — registration, score release, application cut-offs — each cited to its source with the day it was read.

Cite it when you need to say how late somebody can sit the exam and still have a score in front of an admissions office in time.

    Paste this link

    Sources
Published cycle dates, cited individually. No invented test-date table.
    Freshness
The most perishable asset in the library, which is why every date shows the day it was read.
    Stands alone
It answers a planning question, not a product question. A reader who never touches a practice platform still needs the answer.

Evidence and method

Worked examples, and the counting rules behind every figure this site publishes about itself.

  • Scored TOEFL sample responses across all four sections

Responses to real 2026-format tasks, each published at its own stable URL with the practice estimate it received and the feedback behind that estimate.

Cite it when you need to say what an answer at a given level on a given task actually looks like, when describing one in prose would take three paragraphs and still lose the argument.

    Paste this link

    <a href="https://www.reach120.com/samples">Scored TOEFL sample responses across all four sections</a> — Reach120

    Or in plain text

Scored TOEFL sample responses across all four sections — Reach120. https://www.reach120.com/samples
    Sources
Responses to the current task types, scored by Reach120 and labeled as practice estimates, never as an exam result.
    Freshness
Grows as responses are scored. Existing URLs stay put, because a citation that moves is a citation lost.
    Stands alone
Each sample is a complete worked example that reads end to end with no account, no trial and no paywall. A teacher can project one; a forum answer can link straight to the one that settles the question.
  • The methodology register: how every figure Reach120 publishes is computed

Every quantity this site publishes about itself, with what one unit of it counts, the query behind it, the date it was measured, and an explicit "not enough data yet" wherever a sample is too small to carry a claim.

Cite it when you need to say the method behind any Reach120 figure being quoted — so the quote can be checked instead of taken on trust.

    Paste this link

    Sources
The production database, read through one published function whose SQL is in the repository, plus dated snapshots for the figures no runtime credential can reach.
    Freshness
Live figures recompute on request. A snapshot expires on a fixed clock and stops being published rather than going quietly stale.
    Stands alone
It is also usable as a worked example of the practice itself: a reader can lift the pattern of stating a counting rule beside a count without using anything else here.
  • TOEFL Writing resource accuracy audit

Which widely circulated TOEFL writing advice still matches the current exam and which of it targets the pre-2026 essay tasks, with a printable checklist.

Cite it when you need to say the fact that a large share of TOEFL writing guidance in circulation still describes tasks the exam no longer sets.

    Sources
Each judgment cites the ETS source it was checked against.
    Freshness
Re-checked when the underlying sources move.
    Stands alone
It is the page to hand somebody who is about to study from a stale book, and it is most useful to a reader who will never buy anything from anyone.
  • TOEFL 2026 materials index: what ETS publishes, and what everyone else does

One index of the 2026 material landscape — which documents come from the test owner and where to read them, which third-party materials are free, and which sit behind a plan.

Cite it when you need to say where the primary documents for the current exam live, in a single link instead of six.

    Sources
Every off-site link carries a read date and every stated difference is sourced.
    Freshness
Read dates travel with each entry, so an aging link is visible rather than implied.
    Stands alone
Most of the index points away from this site. That is the point of it, and it is why it is useful to a reader who has already decided against us.

  • TOEFL 2026 teacher kit

A full classroom unit on the current Writing section: lesson plan, an overview of the tasks as they now stand, printable worksheets and rubric guidance.

Cite it when you need to say a ready-to-teach unit on the 2026 Writing tasks, for a links page aimed at instructors rather than at test takers.

    Sources
Built against the current task specification, with the rubric guidance sourced rather than invented.
    Freshness
Revised when the task specification moves.
    Stands alone
It is a unit an instructor can teach on paper, in a room with no computers, without anybody in it holding an account.
  • Build a Sentence task pack

Twelve word-arrangement exercises with an answer key, plus the grammar the task actually tests: word order, articles, agreement and adverb placement.

Cite it when you need to say practice on the task type that has no pre-2026 equivalent, which is the one most existing materials cannot cover at all.

Written for the current task format; the answer key states why each arrangement is the correct one.
    Freshness
Stable while the task format is.
    Stands alone
Print it, hand it out, mark it from the key. Nothing about it routes through this site.
  • Write an Email task pack

Ten email scenarios with tone guidance, a structure checklist and two annotated model responses.

Cite it when you need to say classroom practice on the Write an Email task, with models a teacher can mark against.

Written for the current task format, against the stated practice length target.
    Freshness
Stable while the task format is.
    Stands alone
A complete paper exercise with its own models and checklist.
  • Academic Discussion task pack

Eight discussion prompts with peer posts, a position-and-reason framework, and model responses that each add a distinct point.

Cite it when you need to say classroom practice on the Academic Discussion task, including the peer posts the task depends on.

Written for the current task format.
    Freshness
Stable while the task format is.
    Stands alone
The peer posts are the part that is hard to improvise in a classroom, and they are on the page.
  • TOEFL score converter, 1–6 bands to CEFR and the retired 0–120 scale

A converter between the current bands, CEFR levels and the 0–120 scale used before 2026.

Cite it when you need to say the conversion itself, on any page whose readers arrive holding a number from the old scale.

Free, no account, and it does the whole job in one screen for a reader who wants nothing else.

Not here yet: Per-prompt score distributions

The corpus can support a distribution of practice estimates per prompt, and nobody else in this category holds the data to publish one. It is not here because a published aggregate over learner work needs a registered counting rule and a measurement date before its first digit appears anywhere, and it has neither yet. It will arrive with both or not at all.

Every page under free tools carries its own citation block, and our independence statement says what Reach120 is not. Found something wrong in one of these? Tell us and it gets corrected with the correction shown.
