What changed on July 31, 2026

The name and the web address. Nothing else: accounts, saved practice, feedback history and subscriptions all carried over untouched, because it was one platform moving to a new address rather than a new platform.

Every writing30.com address redirects to the matching reach120.com page in a single hop, and those redirects stay live deliberately — an old bookmark, a link in someone else's article and a link a teacher pasted into a syllabus all still work. Google records the change of address as having started July 30, 2026, which is the same event stamped in Pacific time.

Why the name changed

"Writing30" named two things that are both gone. It named a writing-only tool, and the platform now covers all four sections of the TOEFL iBT — Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. And it named the 0–30 section scale, which official score reports no longer use: tests taken on or after January 21, 2026 report on a 1–6 band scale in 0.5 increments.

Reach120 keeps the number people still think in — the 0–120 total that the previous scale added up to, and that many universities still state their requirements in — while the product itself teaches and scores against the 2026 format. Where a page shows a /30 or /120 figure, it is labelled as a comparison estimate against the retired scale, never as an official score.
