Is your TOEFL® study material still current?
Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. You answer about your material, not with it, so no copyrighted content goes anywhere. The result appears without an account or an email address.
Five questions
Answer what you know. “Not sure” never counts against the material — those questions are simply left out of the read.
How the read is decided
No model, no scoring, no judgment call. The first row that matches your answers is the read you get — this table is the logic, not a description of it.
| If | Read |
|---|---|
| Fewer than three questions answered yes or no | Not enough information |
| Three or more answered, and every answer shows a current-format marker | Your material covers the current format |
| Three or more answered, and none shows a current-format marker | Your material likely predates the current format |
| Three or more answered, with some markers present and some absent | Partial coverage |
What this tool does not do
- It does not name, rate, or rank any publisher, book, or course. It reads your answers, not the material — verify any gap against the publisher’s newest edition.
- It does not judge quality or teaching depth. Five format markers say whether the material describes the current test, not whether it is any good.
- It does not predict a score, and it does not tell you that outdated material will make you fail. Old material still teaches English; it just no longer describes the test.
One page per value, if you want the answer without the tool
Each of these answers one narrow question from the same sourced tables this page uses, and states the date those sources were last checked.
