For tutors, teachers and creators
If you already teach this test, we will pay you to recommend us honestly
You have students, subscribers or readers who are preparing for the TOEFL. If you send some of them here and they subscribe, we pay you a share of what they paid. You say plainly that you are paid. That is the whole arrangement.
Everything below is the actual contract, not a summary of one. The figures on this page are read from the same code that decides what you are owed, so there is no version of these terms that differs from the version the ledger runs.
This is not open yet
The programme is built and it is not open to anyone yet. The mechanism that tracks a link, holds a commission and releases it is finished and tested; the part that moves money to you is deliberately not switched on, and nobody has been approached. When it opens we will say so here rather than in a message you did not ask for.
How it works
- 1. You get a link. Your own tracked link to this site. No redirect through a tracking domain, no third-party pixel; the code sits in a first-party cookie on our own domain and nowhere else.
- 2. Someone follows it and subscribes. The person reads, practices, and decides for themselves. If they pay for a plan, the commission is recorded against your link with the amount they actually paid.
- 3. It is held, then it is yours. The commission waits out the period in which the payment can still be taken back. After that it is earned, and it is paid on the next run once your balance is large enough.
The terms
Every figure here is generated from the code that enforces it. If a number below and a number in our ledger ever disagree, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.
- What is paid
- 20% of the amount a learner actually pays on their first Reach120 plan, once. Not a share of later renewals: we have no measured renewal rate, and paying against one we have not measured is how a referral programme starts owing more than it brings in.
- What counts
- A person who reaches Reach120 through your link and later pays for their first plan. A sign-up on its own counts for nothing, and neither does a renewal or a second purchase by someone who was already a customer.
- How long a click counts
- 90 days from the first time someone arrives through your link, held in a first-party cookie on our own domain. First touch, not last: if someone arrives through your link and later through another, the commission stays with you.
- When it is earned
- 120 days after the payment settles. That is how long the payment can still be taken back by a refund, by a satisfaction claim, or by a card dispute, and we would rather wait than ask you to return money you have already been paid.
- When it is paid
- Monthly, once your earned balance reaches $50. A balance below that carries forward. It does not expire and it is not forfeited if you stop posting.
- What you must do
- Say plainly, next to the recommendation itself, that you earn a commission. In a video that means in the video, not only in the description; in a livestream it means saying it again periodically. The words "affiliate link" on their own are not enough.
- What voids a commission
- The payment was refunded, in whole or in part. The payment was disputed by the cardholder and the dispute was lost or accepted. The traffic behind the conversion was invalid: self-dealing, stuffed cookies, forced clicks, or a purchased or incentivised audience. The placement carried no clear material-connection disclosure next to the recommendation, and it was not corrected on notice. The placement bid on or used a Reach120 brand term, or used an ETS mark, in paid search or in ad copy. The placement stated a score outcome, or an assertion about Reach120 that our published evidence record does not carry. The affiliate account was closed for cause before the commission was earned.
The disclosure, which is the part people get wrong
The obligation is to make the material connection obvious next to the recommendation itself, not on an about page and not behind a link that has to be expanded. In a video that means in the video. In a livestream it means repeating it. If you would rather not think about the wording, use ours.
Paid link: I earn a commission if you subscribe.
A placement without an adequate disclosure that is not fixed after we raise it voids the commission on it and ends the arrangement. We are answerable for the people we pay, so this is checked rather than assumed.
What we will never hand you
No script that states an outcome on the official test. We do not publish a figure of that kind anywhere on this site, so we cannot hand one to you, and an affiliate who states one is stating it on our behalf.
- No claim about what a learner ends up with on the official test. Nothing of that kind is registered in our evidence record, and an asset that asserted it would be asserting something we have refused to assert ourselves.
- No wording that implies ETS is involved with us, endorses us, or supplied anything here.
- No invented learner, no quoted student who does not exist, and nothing conditioned on your saying something positive.
- The material you are given carries what the published test specification says and what this software actually does, with the date it was read.
Who this is for
Independent TOEFL tutors, small academies, and people who teach the format in public. The test is what you already talk about, the people listening are already preparing for it, and a recommendation from you carries weight precisely because you are not us.
Who it is not for
- Coupon, deal and cashback sites. The audience arrives looking for a discount and leaves when a cheaper one appears.
- Accounts with unrelated mass traffic. Volume without relevance is refund rate wearing a costume.
- Anyone unwilling to say they are paid. That one is not negotiable and there is no version of the programme without it.
- Anyone bidding on our brand terms in paid search, or on any ETS mark, anywhere.
What voids a commission
The list is short and it is enforced in code rather than kept as a discretion. An affiliate buying through their own link is refused at the moment of purchase, not clawed back later: the account, the email and the payment instrument are all compared, so a second account or a shared card does not get through either.
