How these figures were arrived at

Nothing is interpolated: where ETS publishes a single 0–30 value rather than a range, one number is shown. These ranges are a comparison with the retired 0–30 scale, not a conversion anyone can run in reverse to recover an exact previous score — ETS published the mapping in this direction only.
