The prompt

As it appears in practice

Online learning refers to the education that takes place over the internet. It has gained significant popularity with advancements in technology and the necessity caused by global events like the COVID-19 pandemic. This education model offers flexibility, access to a broad range of resources, and the ability to learn from anywhere. However, it also presents challenges such as lack of in-person interaction and potential technical issues.

Band 4.53.5/5 rubric
While I appreciate the points made by both students, I agree with Student 1 that online learning is a better option than traditional in-person classes because it allows students to save time and money. One reason is that students can avoid transportation costs and learn from anywhere. For example, online learners do not need to spend time commuting, which allows them to use their time more efficiently. While Student 2 argues that traditional in-person classes provide essential face-to-face interaction with teachers and peers, I believe that this argument is less convincing because online platforms also provide opportunities for communication and collaboration. Therefore, I believe that online learning remains a better option than traditional in-person classes.
